## What each score is for

Heavier lifters lift more. Each score divides your total by a curve of what lifters at your bodyweight tend to total, which puts a 60 kg lifter and a 120 kg lifter on one list. Men and women get separate curves.

- **IPF GL points.** The International Powerlifting Federation's formula, used at every IPF event since 1 May 2020 (IPF). It has separate coefficients for raw (the IPF says classic) and equipped, full power and bench only. Points = total × 100 / (A − B·e−C·bw).
- **DOTS.** Tim Konertz's formula, adopted by the German federation BVDK in 2019 (as OpenPowerlifting records it). One curve per sex, whatever the equipment. Points = total × 500 / (A·bw⁴ + B·bw³ + C·bw² + D·bw + E).
- **Wilks.** The original: total × 500 over a fifth-degree polynomial in bodyweight. OpenPowerlifting's Wilks column uses it.
- **Wilks 2020.** A refit with 600 on top and new coefficients. Its scores run higher than the original's. Compare Wilks 2020 only with Wilks 2020.

## Bodyweight limits

DOTS scores bodyweight between 40 and 210 kg for men, 40 and 150 kg for women. Outside that, it uses the nearest limit. Wilks limits are 40–201.9 kg (men) and 26.51–154.53 kg (women). Wilks 2020 uses 40–200.95 kg and 40–150.95 kg.

IPF GL has no bodyweight clamp. Below 35 kg we show no GL score, as OpenPowerlifting does.

On 3,000 OpenPowerlifting meet results, our DOTS, Wilks and IPF GL match OpenPowerlifting's own values to within 0.01 points on every row.

## Scores and percentiles

A DOTS of 400 is 400 points on the DOTS curve. It does not say how many lifters you beat.

The percentile line does that. It ranks your DOTS against the best full-power DOTS of tested raw lifters in OpenPowerlifting, from meets in the ten years to the data date. Bench-only and equipped scores get no percentile.

## Who is in the percentile

201,723 men and 100,614 women, so two in three are men. All chose to compete, all were drug-tested and lifted raw, and each counts once, at their best total.

Bodyweight is the weigh-in weight. Lifters often cut to make a class, and the same total at a heavier bodyweight scores lower. A total lifted at your everyday weight is ranked against lifters who were often lighter on the day.
